Event Description:
Join staff in mulching and maintaining the rose beds at the Raleigh Rose Garden. Mulching plays an important role in well-landscaped areas as it controls weed growth, provides moisture for plants, and a positive aesthetic look for the park.
Duties:
Volunteers will use pitchforks, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other tools to haul and spread mulch in the rose beds.
Work Environment:
We will be working outside in the elements. There is the possibility for uneven ground. There will be a restroom on site.
Requirements:
- Age: 16 . Those under 16 must have a parent/guardian present
- Up-to-date release form. *Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature*
Other Instructions:
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
- Wear close-toed shoes such as sneakers or hiking boots
- Bring your own filled water bottle
- Additional details about parking and trash disposal will be emailed to all registered volunteers
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
