Event Description:
Come help Parks Staff spread mulch at Mordecai Mini Park! Mulch is used to help hold in moisture, fight weeds, and to maintain a well landscaped setting. We will provide tools, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and a first aid kit. Volunteers need to wear loose comfortable clothing that can get dirty, and closed-toe shoes. Please bring your own filled water bottle
Duties:
Volunteers will use hard rakes, pitchforks, and wheelbarrows to help spread mulch.
Work Environment:
We will be working outside so please dress for the weather. There is the possibility of uneven ground. There is no restroom on location.
Requirements:
- Age: 12+ . Those under 16 must have a parent/guardian present
- Up-to-date release form. Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature
Other Instructions:
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
- Wear close-toed shoes such as sneakers or hiking boots
- Bring your own filled water bottle
- Additional details about parking and trash disposal will be emailed to all registered volunteers
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours
