**Please Note that this commitment is once a week from 4:30-5:45pm through the school year, which is the first week of June 2023. You are not able to volunteer until the volunteer form and background check has been completed. Those will be emailed to you once your interest in volunteering has been submitted. The goal of our afterschool program is to provide K-5th grade children with appropriate, nurturing, and consistent adult attention in a structured and engaging environment. BBCS strives to teach children the importance of education, staying active, being respectful, keeping a positive attitude, and following Christ's example in their lives.
Volunteers are needed on Thursdays from 4:30-5:45pm to help improve a child's reading skills. Some of that time will be helping the children complete their homework in small groups, some of the time will be working either one-on-one or in small groups (2-4 children) on literacy activities. This could be a game, word problems, or some other activity.
