Thank you for showing interest in our volunteer team!
The Adaptive Recreation of the YMCA of South Florida takes pride in providing inclusive recreational and sport-based programming for families in Pembroke Pines and neighboring cities throughout South Florida. By adapting our teaching methods and environments we can serve a broader range of participants. Our program serves a spectrum of individuals including, but not limited to, neuro-typical functioning, developmental delay, and physical impairment through the ages of 2 through adulthood! We strive to continue spreading a positive influence by providing a safe, fun space for all families to grow and enjoy sports and recreation.
Volunteers have the option to gain community service hours, letters of recommendation for employment or academia, incentives, and community training working with our families. The first step would include expressing interest by filling out our volunteer survey.

Mission Statement
The mission of the YMCA of South Florida is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Description
The YMCA of South Florida is part of the YMCA of the USA, the largest not-for-profit community service organization and second largest charity in America.
Serving the Greater Miami area since 1916, the YMCA has programs for kids, families and the community from the Miami-Dade/Broward County line south to the Upper Keys. Programs are held in schools, parks, recreation centers, and at our 4 YMCA Family Centers and our 3 preschools.
All YMCA programs are designed to build the core character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA is for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes. Our goal is to turn no one away. Our strength is in the people we bring together.
The YMCA is volunteer-lead, with an all volunteer Board of Directors. Financial assistance is available, thanks to the support of the community for the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. Additional support for children and families to participate include grants from community partners, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
