About Feed Your Neighborhood

Location:

1420 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI 48224, US

Mission Statement

Feed Your Neighborhood is partnered with a non-profit organization, founded by the neighborhood and its community partners. Given first-hand experience with lack of educational accessibility, chronic homelessness, and food insecurity, FYN was established on the Eastside of Detroit in 2017. The idea behind the organization is to shift society from competition to cohesive community through small actions. This brand was created to promote awareness through limited released garments.

Description

Feed Your Neighborhood was established in 2017 by a group of individuals who had one commonality, each has experienced homelessness, within this commonality lies personal differences, but what ultimately changed was their perspective on wealth. The Feed Your Neighborhood Organization is located in one of the most urban populated cities in America and consists of three key components: food, housing, and funding, each week the organization personally provides frozen meats, homegrown vegetables, and fresh dairy produce to the people in our community. Housing is next, throughout the years individual members of FYN have been purchasing homes, creating shelters and partnering with local social work organizations to help place long term or recent citizens subjected to homelessness into temporary then eventually permanent living. Lastly there's funding, buying dilapidated housing and transforming them into forever homes takes time, skill, and money because of this FYN has partnered with licensed contractors/instructors who specialize in housing development. Also we have partnered with local streetwear artists to help design/develop high end clothing products with the prospective proceeds funding the housing program.
