Our mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness and improve the health, dignity and well-being of people living in poverty in Marin County by providing high-quality, culturally sensitive, easily accessible, medical care and social services. Ritter Center is a vital and responsive community partner, providing exceptional holistic health and social services to the underserved.

Description: We receive donations from the community and our valued partnerships in form of clothing and shoes, bedding, and toiletries. We need help organizing the sorting the closet so that we can more easily hand out the items throughout the week. The needs change based on the week (amount of donations per a week can fluctuate) but most often the job requires 1-5 individuals and only takes about an hour or two. This volunteer role is not client-facing but instead one that is part of the essential background work that keeps our organization running smoothly.

Schedule: Every Thursday sometime between 9am-12pm (based on volunteer availability)

Required: Volunteers must be 18 years old and able to lift 10 lbs to 15 lbs. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Annie Everett, to learn about exceptions: aeverett@rittercenter.org or (415)-940-9999

Provided: N95 mask, gloves, hand sanitizer.

We aim to round-up and organize our donations once a week. If you have a small group (2 or more individuals) and are unavailable on Thursdays between 8am-4:30pm, we can schedule you for another day of the week.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or inquiries!
