ORGANIZATION: RUNNING2BWELL

Image_202212291619

You'll be meeting with a small group (4-10) of folks to walk/run/workout at the Rec center. You don't have to run, just show up and encourage others. Our programs show people how to use exercise to cope with addiction and mental health struggles. We'll cover your entry fees, and we offer a generous package of incentives including running shoes, apparel, and race entries.

You'll be playing a key role in helping others! But you won't be alone, we generally have 2-3 mentors at each group.

About RUNNING2BWELL

Location:

3644 Mark-Dale Drive, Wadsworth, OH 44281, US

Mission Statement

We help people learn how to use group exercise to overcome addiction and mental health struggles.

Description

We were founded in 2016 when a friend of our founder lost his son to heroin.

We meet weekly at 9 different locations in the Akron, OH area to walk/run/workout and connect with over 130 people. All fitness levels are welcome. During the winter months, we move into local gym/rec centers. All programs are free but we ask that folks donate what they can afford. When people come to 3 meetings we give them a pair of running shoes and we also provide apparel and race entries.

Exercise has been shown in numerous studies to lessen depression/anxiety, improve memory and cognition, and reduce cravings.

#activatehappy is our hashtag because when we're active, we're more content.
