20 teenagers in the Village School Online educational program arrive in a bus at Tumbling Trout Fly Shop. The people enter in a line to put on waders a d boots. We need helpers to get this done promptly.

Then, the bus and volunteers in their own vehicles go to Happy Meadows campground (2 miles down the road) and park in a large parking area. As the team leader gives a talk on conservation to the youth, the volunteers assemble 20 rods. All the gear - rods - flies - leader - tippet- split shot - floatant - etc. is provided by Pikes Peak Chapter of Trout Unlimited. The volunteer only needs their own waders, stream side gear and a net.

Each volunteer takes one youth and walks to anywhere they like along the South Platte river and teaches the youth to cast and land a fish safely using a fly.

We like our volunteers to engage the youth on topics related to conservation and to oversee any safety issues such as wading only knee deep, avoiding silty sinking mud, etc.
