A volunteer can provide input that is needed to make informed team decisions regarding patient care. It has been said that, Volunteer caregivers are in the business of touching lives. Each time they help, they can make a difference. We commend you for your desire to "make a difference."
Volunteers will be provided with 12 hours of basic volunteer orientation and training, and on-going education experiences that will be held quarterly. It is required that Volunteers provide service for a minimum of 8 hours per month for at least 6 months. Volunteers may choose to work directly with patients and families, or provide a specialized service that they are licensed to perform. Other duties, such as: answering phones, entering data, filing and general clerical duties may also be performed. Additional services that may be provided for patients are listed on the Hospice Volunteer Job Description that is enclosed.
