The VISTA will build City and resident capacity through recruitment and development of volunteers and to improve the marketing and recruitment of youth and resident leaders in the City’s programs that focus on mentorship, civic engagement, work force readiness and community advocacy. This position will develop and establish youth development programs, serve as project lead for the AMOR Salinas beautification movement, work with the Small Business Support VISTA in recruiting volunteers in establishment of an Adopt-A-Block program and creation of an Alisal district cultural theme, and researching legislation and best practices and seeking funding opportunities to support City and community led volunteer programs and Alisal Vibrancy Plan and Parks, Rec & Libraries Master Plan implementation activities.
