The objectives will focus on actively tackling projects to implement AVP economic development chapter recommendations and the City’s Blueprint for Relief, Recovery, and Resiliency that support small businesses impacted by the economic downturn resulting from the pandemic. The VISTA member will also work to implement a Business, Retention, and Expansion program. The purpose of the Americorps Vista Small business support is to provide students of graduate and undergraduate programs with professional economic development experience in a public sector organization. This program is intended to provide one year of full time Volunteer experience. Upon the student's completion of the one service year, the applicant should have adequate training and experience necessary for an entry-level economic development position within the public sector.
