Volunteer will be working the front desk in the visitor centers of Haleakal ā National Park. Opportunity to work the information desk at Headquarters Visitor Center at 7,000 ft or the upper Haleakalā Visitor Center at 9,740 ft. Volunteers will provide park orientation to visitors, answer questions, hand out brochures, work with Jr Rangers, and much more! Volunteers will also be trained in opening and closing procedures, and basic natural and cultural history of park. This opportunity involves working with lots of people with diverse backgrounds, standing for long period of time and working with a high volume of visitors. Shifts will likely be between 3 and 4 hours, and we are looking for a commitment of at least 2 shifts per month. We are looking for locals, or applicants who have or can arrange housing on the island of Maui. Housing is not provided with this position.
