ORGANIZATION: Guiding Eyes for the Blind

Do you love dogs? Essential volunteer Puppy Raisers are needed in our Bay Raising region to care for our adorable, purpose-bred dogs during the first 14-18 months of their lives. Raisers provide the pup with the love, socialization, house manners and basic obedience they will need to succeed in guide dog training.

No previous dog experience is required- Raisers are provided with extensive support including a dedicated staff member, small group obedience classes, free veterinary care, a crate. All raisers are required to complete an application. Youth Raisers (12+) are welcome with the support of an adult who will help build their skills, drive the raiser to outings, and assist with raising responsibilities.

Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that receives no government assistance. It is funded solely by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. The organization relies heavily on the services of many dedicated volunteers.
