ORGANIZATION: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research

HTT Runner

QUICK OVERVIEW

Energetic volunteers are needed from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023, to support our Hirshberg Training Team as they participate in the LA Marathon.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Every year, new and seasoned runners alike make a commitment to join the Hirshberg Training Team and fundraise for pancreatic cancer research on behalf of the Hirshberg Foundation. They train and fundraise for months and come spring, embark on one of the most rigorous challenges they have ever faced - running in the Los Angeles Marathon!

IMPACT

Helping to cheer on people running the LA marathon, with special attention to our Hirshberg Team participants, and giving them the extra motivation to make it to the finish line!

We also would like for people to be informed about the Hirshberg Foundation, be able to bring awareness to our fight against pancreatic cancer, and offer support and resources to those affected by this disease.

VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Volunteers will cheer on runners using pom-poms, noise makers, and waving to runners while they finish the marathon. We will also have volunteers handing out refreshments.

The Hirshberg Foundation will staff a Course Support Booth known as our Purple People Party cheer station along the LA Marathon. Volunteers will watch the marathon, cheer/dance/wave as runners pass by, or hand out refreshments. All ages are welcome! Whether you volunteer for 2 hours or the whole day, your time is greatly appreciated by all those running the marathon.

Description

The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is focused on finding a cure for pancreatic cancer, and empowering the patients and families whose lives are touched by this disease.
