Description
BDCF, a student-run nonprofit organization, was created in 2020 by high school students in the New York City Metropolitan area. Since then, we have grown to over 215 high school and undergraduate volunteers, in 4 different countries. Since 2020, we have raised over $37,000 in research grants and other awards. Our Relocation Relief Schools (RRS), which are 3-year temporary formal schools in slum regions of Bangladesh, now has over 2,000 children enrolled. We conduct weekly service deliveries to children and their families with blankets, educational materials, and meals with the assistance of our global volunteers. Recently, we have launched our Cross-Culture Pen-Pal Program, which is an initiative meant to cultivate global friendships between children in Bangladesh and the outside world. BDCF is excited to continue expanding our programs to further meet the needs of Bangladesh's most vulnerable population.
