Become a Circulation Assistant to aid the Circulation Team at the Winter Park Library! This volunteer position provides an excellent opportunity for volunteers to learn the following skills:
- Prepare library materials for shelving, such as books, movies, music, video games, and other materials
- Operate the Automatic Materials Handler as it processes returned materials, examining them, and placing them into their correct areas for shelvers
- Pulling materials that are on hold for patrons and arrange them in our Holds area
- Case materials and check them for parts
- Cleaning returned discs
- Shelve materials in their appropriate areas according to library standards
- Keeps shelves in a neat and orderly fashion
Volunteers should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, a team player, and eager to learn, among the following qualifications:
- Able to handle materials with care
- Able to read print of varying sizes
- Able to stand, stoop, and carry multiple books and materials
- Regular commitment and schedule desired
- Previous experience a plus
- No experience necessary, we’ll train you!
