Girls on the Run Greater Hartford is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. For 10 weeks, trained GOTR Coaches lead small teams of elementary and middle school girls through life skills lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities.
Teams meet twice a week for 90 minutes during after school hours (2:30 pm onward). As a GOTR Coach, you will be the impetus for transformational change in your girls and you may even experience a positive change within yourself as well!
Girls on the Run coaches do not need to be elite runners. Any person who lives a healthy lifestyle and is committed to improving the lives of girls can serve as a coach. We are currently accepting applications for Head Coaches (Female, 21 and up); Assistant and Substitute Coaches (Male or Female, 18 and up); and Junior Coaches (male or female, 16-18 years old). Apply today!

Mission Statement
We inspire all girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
Description
Girls on the Run Greater Hartford inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using fun, experience-based curricula that creatively integrates running. It is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program designed to enhance 3rd-8th girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on the development of competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls. Trained, caring, and qualified coaches deliver the life skills curriculum during out-of-school times by guiding small teams of girls through twice-a-lessons that promote social-emotional learning concurrently with physical activity. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and completing a celebratory, non-competitive 5K event.
We serve girls in Hartford, Litchfield, Tolland, New Haven and Fairfield Counties.
