Enjoy the best view in Santa Barbara as a volunteer at the Outdoor Santa Barbara Visitor Center! This is a unique opportunity to interact with the public on a regular basis, educating visitors about the missions of each of the center's partners (CINMS, National Parks Service, & SBMM). OSBVC volunteers typically commit to volunteering on a weekly or biweekly basis, answering visitor questions and sharing with the public the OSBVC's amazing view. OSBVC volunteer shifts are usually 3 hours long. We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the following shifts on a weekly or bi-weekly basis: 11:00am-2pm and 2pm-5pm. we are also looking for people to fill in while regular volunteers take vacations over the summer and need back-up volunteers for morning shifts from 11:00am-2pm and afternoons from 2pm-5pm every day of the week.
Training:
A short training will be scheduled before you begin your volunteering. This training is designed to familiarize you with visitor center procedures and the partner's missions and offerings. An adult application form and interview must be completed prior to training.
Benefits:
Outdoor Santa Barbara Visitor Center volunteers enjoy regular interaction with visitors from all over the world, continuing education opportunities & field trips as well as a feeling of fulfillment knowing that they are educating the public on Santa Barbara's rich maritime history and tradition. You also have a breathtaking view of the Harbor, with the Channel Islands in the distance.
Outdoor Santa Barbara Visitor Center volunteers can start any time.
