The Hospice Volunteer provides patient care and support services to individuals who are facing a life-limiting medical illness. Comfort and support are provided to the patient and family members wherever they call home. Volunteers can provide support through phone calls, weekly visits, errands, pet therapy, reiki therapy, legacy letters, quilting, Veteran Certificates and many other opportunities. Description

Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary team consisting of a medical director, nurses, therapists, social workers, chaplains and home health aides. Volunteer roles consist of direct patient visits at home, reading, music, pet therapy, reiki, veteran recognition, and other administrative duties. Hospice volunteers find their work emotionally meaningful and gratifying. The volunteer opportunity is extremely flexible based on the volunteers' location and schedule; volunteers are valued members of our hospice care team.
