EngageNC is looking for a Social Media volunteer to post on our EngageNC LinkedIn and Facebook pages. The volunteer would look on the internet for articles pertaining to the employment of adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, new legislation, helpful seminars, events, etc. Board members will occasionally forward articles of interest and ask that they will be published. Our target audience are adults on the autism spectrum, those with other developmental disabilities, and their families and support networks.
Communication takes place mostly via email, text, video call or phone. As we are a Triangle based organization, we would like our volunteers to live in the North Carolina Triangle (Wake, Durham, Orange Counties).
The time commitment would be about 1 hour per week. Opportunity requires knowledge of social media, internet searches, increasing viewers of posts, and followers. A board member can be available for guidance if needed.

Description
EngageNC (formerly "The Power of the Dream") was founded in 2008 by a group of self-advocates and families in order to assist others in better understanding micro-enterprise and asset building. As the organization connected with more individuals, it was clear that many job seekers with Autism/IDD faced significant barriers to employment.
In 2013, EngageNC opened HANDmeUPs Thrift to provide direct employment opportunities and to demonstrate the value of employing adults with Autism/IDD. Over the years, EngageNC has continued to provide advice and resources to micro-entrepreneurs and businesses who are intentional about hiring adults with Autism/IDD.
