Bicycle Angels is a non-profit charity that loans road bicycles for free to people that want to participate and fundraise for an eligible charity cycling or triathlon event, but don’t have a suitable bike to use, and can’t afford one. Our bicycles are loaned to motivated and committed individuals who are passionate about charity fundraising but are not financially capable of owning a bike suitable for endurance cycling.

We help remove a major barrier to charity fundraising, plus engage new people into cycling. About half of our loan recipients later go on to buy their own bike.

Since our inception in late 2009, we have loaned bicycles to over 1800 participants who have collectively raised $4.5 million for 30+ important causes. These numbers are growing all the time. Charities that have benefited to date include the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (via Team in Training), Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Diabetes Society, AIDS Lifecycle, Arthritis Foundation, Children's Hospital L.A., and many more. We currently have a fleet of over 325 road bikes for loan.

We currently have operations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Denver, Oklahoma City, and Omaha.

We are seeking a Treasurer, which meets once per month on the first Sunday of the month, from 9 am to 11 am, in north Redondo Beach and/or on Zoom. We would prefer that this be someone in the Los Angeles area but it is not completely required to be local.

You MUST be familiar with basic business accounting, or better yet, non-profit accounting. You must also be familiar with QuickBooks online, and hopefully also with Federal and State annual non-profit filings.

You don't have to be a cyclist, or into bikes to support what we do. At the end of the day, we support other non-profits through cycling. To quote a famous cyclist: It's not about the bikes.
