Centura Hospice (Porter Hospice Residence) is seeking volunteers to join our Interdisciplinary team of nurses, aides, social workers, and chaplains, serving patients and their families at Porter Hospice Residence. Joining this team could be the most rewarding and heart-changing experience of your life.

Volunteers support hospice by providing a mix of reception tasks and patient support, including

  • Admitting and guiding visitors
  • Answering the telephone
  • Visiting with patients
  • Responding to call lights
  • Supporting families
Comprehensive training is provided at no cost to ensure you feel confident in your ability to help.

Vaccinations (Covid and Flue) are required to work in this program.

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

3 Shifts

  • 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    4 HOUR SHIFTS: 8A-12P, 12P-4P, 4P-8P, 6P-9P, EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
  • 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM
    4 HOUR SHIFTS AVAILABLE EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
  • 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM
    4 HOUR SHIFTS AVAILABLE EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
  • NONE OF THESE TIMES WORK FOR ME, BUT I CAN STILL HELP

Description

Centura Hospice provide service to patients with terminal or life-threatening illness and their families. We have volunteer opportunities at our in-patient facility, and in our home program.
