ORGANIZATION: ALZHEIMERS DISEASE AND RELATED DISORDERS ASSOCIATION INC

Under the supervision of the Volunteer Manager, the volunteer will be trained in various topics regarding Alzheimer's disease, and make presentations to the general public--such as civic organizations, business groups, church groups, etc.

The Association provides speaker training as well as outlines, scripts, and Power Point presentations on the various topics that we are asked to present, so that presentations are generally standardized. The volunteer will also answer audience questions.

As we receive requests for speakers, we will call those trained volunteers to check their availability on a rotating basis. Presentations are typically 30 minutes to one hour in length, including audience questions. The speaking opportunities occur on various days at various times--sometimes weekdays, sometimes evenings, sometime weekends. Each opportunity is different.

Having been touched by Alzheimer's disease is helpful to the Speaker's Bureau volunteer, but not mandatory.
Must be age 21 to apply. Background checks are required.
