We are looking to connect with a new talented writer! This position can be done remotely, however, you MUST live in the United States to be considered.
You also must be available at least 5 hours per week for this internship.
A few typical responsibilities as the lead journalist for CBATES include:
- Writing thought provoking articles that will be featured in our newsletter of 700+ readers and social media platforms
- Reviewing press releases before they are submitted
- Performing interviews for written material when needed
- Proofreading newsletter
- Helping creatively lead other writers that volunteer for the organization
Some things we prefer, but not require, in applicants are:
- Preferably are currently majoring in OR have a degree in either english or communications
- Experience in working with newsletters/any other published media
- Flexible availability
This role requires basic knowledge in either Google docs or Microsoft word and proficient writing skills. You MUST live in the United States to apply.

Description
We are a new non-profit organization offering various initiatives to impact the lives of individuals and the community through various initiatives.
In 2021 we presented our first Barbie Like Me Doll Drive. This initiative collected black and brown dolls to distribute to children of families in need and local hospitalized pediatric patients. The foundation of this initiative is to build self esteem and encourage positive self identity in minority children.
We present occasional forums that provide resources to support families and individuals.
Our office provides information and resources, and assists clients in applying for various resources to support them during financial hardships.
