The Leonardo First Aid Squad (LFAS) provides an exciting opportunity for volunteers to get involved in their community by providing 9-1-1 emergency medical services to Middletown Township. On average, there are 17 calls for service every day, which can range from simple falls to medical or traumatic emergencies to motor vehicle accidents. No prior experience is necessary to join the team, and LFAS provides free training for volunteers to become EMTs. This training teaches volunteers how to provide medical care in emergencies and how to operate an emergency vehicle.

Not only does volunteering with LFAS provide the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others, but it also offers a chance for volunteers to learn valuable leadership skills and explore a career track in the medical field. The team is made up of a diverse group of people from various backgrounds, including teachers, lawyers, doctors, tradespeople, college students, retirees, entrepreneurs, homemakers, and businesspeople. Even those who are not interested in riding on the ambulances for emergencies can still get involved by volunteering to help the organization behind the scenes. Volunteering with the Leonardo First Aid Squad is a rewarding and enriching experience that allows individuals to make a positive impact in their community.
