The Iris Network is a non-profit dedicated to helping people with vision impairment or blindness attain independence and community integration. We are looking to expand on our recreational activities at our assisted living facility.
This could be a weekly activity, bi-weekly or seasonally! All activities must be accessible. Have an idea in mind but not sure if it is accessible or how to make it accessible? Our staff is happy to help!
All volunteers must be located in the United States, with preference to the New England area. We do not offer visa sponsorship for work or volunteer opportunities.

Mission Statement
Helping people who are visually impaired or blind attain independence and community integration.
Description
Established in 1905, The Iris Network has been helping Maine's visually impaired community learn independent living skills through work of Vision Rehabilitation Therapists. At our main location we have an assisted living facility as well as the Training Center. The Training Center is to help people transitioning into independent life through 10-20 week programs which teach braille, cooking, knife skills, activity of daily living skills, basic home maintenance and pre-vocational skills such as resume writing, interviewing and assistive technologies.
