Camp Sing Out is an adapted musical theatre camp for people with special needs age 18+. Campers will learn a script, music, choreography, and stage directions throughout the two weeks. On the last day of camp, we will have a performance and a cast party. Volunteers are needed to be one-on-one theatre buddies (16), help with art/set design, and stagehands. Volunteers need to be 13+ and be available for all camp hours. Volunteers do not need to have any theatre experience, however, experience working with people that have special needs is a plus. Volunteers should be kind, empathetic, encouraging, engaging, and all-around fun! Camp Sing Out is led by credentialed Art, Dance, Music, and Recreational Therapists to provide a supportive and meaningful camp experience.

Enriching the lives of individuals with special needs, regardless of age, through the power of creative arts and recreational therapies.
Description
FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing a space for folks with special needs to enrich their lives. Founded in 1951, we work with clients of all ages, introducing them to new activities and experiences, helping them gain a deeper understanding of themselves and showing them new ways to communicate how they feel.
Through the dedication of our highly-trained staff and the support of partners and collaborating organizations throughout Metro Detroit, we offer music, art, dance/movement and recreational therapy for children and adults with a variety of special needs diagnoses. We go into schools in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties to provide music, art, dance/movement and recreational therapy for students receiving special education services. We work to expose our clients to new avenues of expression which serve to improve how they relate and interact with their environments and families.
