H.Y.P.E to Empower seeks qualified, skilled volunteers looking to build in multiple areas of life, such as: building resumes and gaining experience, enabling persons to gain higher pay for employment, learning a new skill, and giving back to the community.

The Evaluation Specialist(s) will assist the lead Evaluation Lead in creating and developing program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of activities and interventions implemented at programmatic and strategic partner levels. Evaluations will include, but not be limited to, studies of the outcomes of HYPE programs, including in-person and virtual options and other programs/interventions intended to address the impact of those living and impacted with HIV.

This position is responsible for conducting all phases of program evaluations, including creating analysis plans and timelines, data collection, data analysis, and communications and reporting.

ESSENTIAL TASKS (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment.)

  • For each program to be evaluated, create a project/evaluation plan. This includes planning for data collection and data analysis, including methodology, reporting, and project timelines.
  • Develop a strategy for the selection of which local programs to evaluate.
  • Analyze data using appropriate statistical methodologies and compare the results of data analysis to program goals.
  • Collect appropriate data to conduct program evaluations (either using previously available data or developing new data collection strategies).
  • Assist with the identification of evidence-based strategies and interventions.
  • Assist with developing data collection tools such as surveys and monitoring instruments.
  • Assist with supporting organizations in establishing specific and measurable goals for their programs such that these goals can be used in subsequent program evaluations.
  • Assist with reporting the results and findings of MSDE’s program evaluations to various audiences and stakeholders.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end reports
  • Logic model development/updates
  • Development of SMART goals and objectives
  • Presentation of process data and links to outcomes for evaluation purposes
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings

  • Helping with funded program deliverables
  • Attend local meetings in person or via zoom.

Time, Tools, Location

  • We work off Eastern Standard Time
  • We do not have set hours per week.
  • We work off weekly check-ins. We expect you, as a volunteer to manage your hours to meet check-ins.
  • All Volunteering positions will be held virtually (via Zoom)
  • this is a remote volunteer opportunity and can be hybrid if in Metro Atlanta.
  • This means you can be located anywhere in the United States, provided you have a computer and a reliable internet connection.
  • This opportunity is flexible. However, we will work on the deadlines needed to ensure successful deadlines.
