We are looking for volunteers to help us write out or design cards that uplift children, seniors, people with disabilties. hospice care and military. Volunteers can do it from home or as a group. Card guidelines are provided but very simply- messages must be uplifting, cheerful and motivating.

Cards can be hand made or store bought but must be handwritten with messages inside. Depending on what category card you chose to do ,messaging may be different. For example a card to a military member may say. "thanks for your service" where a card for a child in the hospital may say- "You are amazing!"

We work with numerous hospitals, senior homes and Military sites to keep reminding people they are loved! They matter.

Contact us for more details or even to recommend a location that could use some cards of support.

About A Bright Spot

Location:

44573 Yarmouth dr, Ashburn, VA 20147, US

Mission Statement

Everyone deserves A Bright Spot in their day! Bright Spot sends a card (and for kids-stickers) to anyone who could use A Bright Spot in their day. Simple as that. A surprise piece of mail with uplifting messages always brightens a day! Whether it be a child in the hospital, a senior in assisted living, military members away from home or someone just having a bad year; We are here to remind them someone cares. Mental health starts with knowing you matter to someone and getting a card reminds them they are loved.

Description

Sending out thousands of cards takes many hands but it also takes a lot of love. As the cards are made by volunteers at their homes each one comes in with different forms of love. Some cards are home made, some are store bought but filled in with great uplifting messages, some even come with a few stickers inside. We then take those cards and match them with the best recipient. No personal information is shared on either end. We have high goals of everyone knowing they matter. When you are "down" whether it be lonely, far away from home or just having a hard time- A card is a simple gesture that can certainly be "A Bright Spot" in your day.
