Lego Lovers to Mentor Youth for Summer Fun in Vienna, VA
ORGANIZATION: BELONG
Please visit the new page to apply.

Belong! Summer Lego Mentors work with small groups of 3-4 elementary students for 6 weeks, (6/24 - 7/29). Mentors help their teams work together to follow instructions, complete challenges and think creatively as they have fun with Legos. They strive to develop relationships with students, and help them build confidence in their building skills and perseverance.
At each session, we’ll start with a quick warmup building activity and work on a larger project. Students will have opportunities to work together and independently. Lego Team Mentors will be given lessons to follow each week that will outline the challenge the students will complete.Their job will be to guide the students (but not do it for them) and encourage them to work together as a team.
Students are in rising 1st - 7th grades and nearly all are English language learners. Most are behind grade level in reading and math. Summer Lego Club is an opportunity to build spatial reasoning skills, problem solving strategies, teamwork abilities, and confidence.
