Mission Statement

Our mission is to strengthen America by providing roadmaps and resources to young Black Americans, so they can realize their dreams and more fully contribute to building our More Perfect Union.

Description

Across all roles, Black Americans encounter gaps and barriers that limit their economic participation and prosperity. Dismantling the barriers that have kept Black Americans from fully participating in the US economy could unleash a tremendous wave of growth, dynamism, and productivity. We want The Lantern Network to be the source of economic growth and development for young people but also a resource to organizations looking for top talent. Our vision is a bold, strong, and united America where all people are valued by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

OUR PROGRAMS
Our flagship program is our Mentorship Program. We pair a young person between the age of 18-25 with a professional in their desired fields. This program gives each mentee the opportunity to not only be inspired by their mentors, but to see how tangible their dreams are.

Our Entrepreneurship Program covers the conception, design, organization, and management of new enterprises. The program is designed to take TLN mentees from opportunity identification through launch, growth, financing, and profitability. With guidance from experienced, successful entrepreneurs, along with insights from start-up founders and financiers, TLN mentees will develop an entrepreneurial mindset and hone the skills they need to develop a new enterprise.
