Do you have a passion for conservation? Looking to gain experience working with animals while making a difference in the world? This volunteer role is for you!
Zovargo is an innovative, award-winning organization providing educational, live animal programs for schools, scouts, libraries, and special events. At Zovargo, you will get experience teaching others how to help animals and you have the opportunity to get trained on animal handling, husbandry, and various conservation presentation techniques.
Qualifications
- Must be 18, have your own vehicle, be the registered owner, and have a driver license.
- Must have means to accommodate gas expense. Travel is a requirement in this position.
- Must have a smart phone and be able to navigate successfully to events.
- Must be able to dedicate six months of time and be available to the minimum commitment of one program every other week (2-4 hours every other week).
Responsibilities
- As a team, deliver engaging, interactive, educational programs to audiences of all ages.
- The volunteer will also assist with set-up and pack-out from the outreach location.
- During the education program, the volunteer is encouraged to share in the delivery of the education program content, assist with sanitation of hands, and assist with crowd management during animal interactions.
- Volunteers can choose to become trained on working hands-on with animals if they maintain 10 hours of education program support each month.
- After meeting the above requirement, the volunteer may also be eligible to begin supporting animal care shifts alongside staff or trained interns.
- Follow Animal Handling Protocols for Animal Ambassadors.
