Purpose:
This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services (ISD) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.
The Admin Support volunteer is responsible for supporting travel, calendar and logistics related Leadership staff field visits and a particular focus on the design and coordination events (meetings, workshops, training and conference style event), ensuring compliance with ISD and National Societies regulations and internal processes.
Responsibility:
- To support travel arrangements (including but not limited to airfare, lodging, transportation and visas) and logistics (including but not limited to venue, catering, interpretation)
- Assists Global Director and Deputy in tracking calendars, organizing calendar for meetings.
- Ensures compliance with ISD and National Society requirements, internal policies and procedures and follows best practices.
- Maintains and updates electronic records and databases.
Required:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in project support, administrative and travel and (transportation, hotel, meeting room, catering services) event logistics management.
- Project management experience or certification
- Bachelor’s Degree
- High competency with technology and experience with Microsoft office suite
- Strong customer service expertise and focus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds at all levels within the organization
- Strong time management skills and ability to deliver services on time
Preferred:
- Minimum of two-year work experience in an international organization.
- Project management skills
Training:
- Training on Red Cross internal processes such as travel coordination and meeting arrangement software.
- General Red Cross orientation
