We are looking for people that may be interested in becoming facilitators for our equine-guided workshops in Pleasanton, CA. No horse experience is necessary. You will be helping to guide activities for people affected by memory loss and their care partners. Training and support is provided.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help people affected by dementia or memory loss and their care partners using an equine-guided workshop approach.

Description

Based on research conducted at Stanford University and UC Davis, Connected
Horse was established in 2015 to help people affected by dementia and their care partner through facilitated in-person workshops with horses. Because memory loss often affects primary relationships, the programs focus on strengthening connections, resulting in a greater sense of closeness.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Our workshops run in sessions - usually 2-3 weekend days in one month. We ask that volunteers commit to one full session at a time.
  • We ask that facilitators dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes.
