Schedule: Tuesdays, 3:00pm-6:00pm
Program Description:
IRCO's Slavic and Eastern European Center (SEEC) celebrates, unites and engages Oregon's diverse Slavic
and Eastern European community to achieve its highest potential. A true reflection of the people it
serves, SEEC is led by an advisory council of community leaders and staffed by a multicultural
multilingual IRCO team.
Position Summary:
SEEC is hosting computer classes for Ukranian refugees to provide fundamental, real-world skills. This
class will educate new arrivals on basic computer skills and information/technology tools and concepts.
Additionally, the tutors will help participants learn to draft a resume, professional emails and
communication to help the job application process.
Qualifications:
* Volunteer should have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
* Teaching experience preferred
* Experience working with refugees and immigrants preferred
* Proficiency in either Russian, Ukrainian or both languages
Time Commitment: 3 months - duration of class
Requirements:
* Must be 18 or older
* Must pass background check
