ProMedica Hospice Mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life encounter: our employees, our patients and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stake holders and those who are yet to become our customers.
What is Hospice. Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing quality of life , rather than length of life. We support our patients and their families wherever they are in their health care journey and respect their goals and values.
The Hospice Volunteer. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help provide the love, respect and care our patients and families need. As a volunteer , you would decide which tasks you are comfortable performing. Our volunteers help enrich the lives of our patients and may perform the following services:
- Provide a friendly visit to lift a patient's spirits
- Reading or providing a comforting touch
- Walking their dog
- Prepare a light lunch/snack
- Run an errand
- Staying with patient so family members can rest
