Compassionate Care Hospice in Taunton an Amedisys companyis looking for Certified Pet TherapyVolunteers to offer therapeutic non-medical support as needed to the hospice patient, family/caregiver, and staff at communities our patients reside. We have several opportunities in the greater Taunton and Fall River area.
Hospice patients enjoy having visits from certified dogs to bring them companionship, comfort, happiness, and wonderful memories of their pets. Pet Therapy helps patients cope better with their medical problems, relieve stress from illness and provide comfort and companionship. Patients look forward to their next visit with these animals.
If you have 1 hour of time to spend with a patient and share the love of your pet with them, we would like to have you join our team.
We offer free virtual or at your own pace training (Certificate will be provided). Dog must be certified we do not provide certification. Reach out today and inquire about this amazing opportunity.

Hospice provides palliative support and care for persons in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and as comfortable as possible. Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living and focuses on maintaining the quality of remaining life. Hospice affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that through appropriate care, and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental, social, physical, and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.
