The Committee Co-Chair assists the Committee Chair in recruiting and training the Volunteer
Committee, with a special focus on hosting the Volunteer Launch Party and Volunteer Committee
Orientation. They establish relationships with the subcommittee chairs, set committee meeting dates
and locations, and maintain regular communication with the Committee Chair and subcommittee chairs

The Longest Day(r) is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. We use this day as an example of how people living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers can feel like everyday is The Longest Day. Thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association(r)

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the staff partner at least once a month to discus planning for success of The Longest Day
  • Make phone calls to participants. (i.e. asking if they need any help planning their events, letting them know about upcoming events, etc.)
  • Lead committee meeting when committee chair is absent
  • Plan Volunteer Launch Party and Volunteer Committee Orientation
  • Recruit committee members
