Rainier Athletes is a long-term mentoring organization that begins supporting students and their families in 4th and 5th grade and continues through middle and high school. RA sponsors year round sports/activities participation, around the clock mentoring, and delivers daily classroom support for Bellevue's historically marginalized youth.

Be an advocate and ally of RA students and their families. Volunteer mentor applications are open! After going through training, volunteer mentors meet with their mentee once a week at the mentee’s school in Bellevue . Mentors typically spend 1-2 hours a week volunteering between check-ins, reports, and invitations to cheer at their mentee’s games/activities or celebrate milestones like quinceaƱeras or graduation. In order to build a meaningful connection with a mentee and their core community we ask for consistency through a year time frame. Rainier Athletes are not just athletes, but are also artists and engineers - their passions are a way that we engage in a deeper conversation with them and their Core Community. So no, you don’t have to love sports! Rainier Athletes mentors are volunteers with diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and interests!
