About De Novo’s Family Law Unit

The Family Law team increases the safety and well-being of domestic violence survivors and their children through quality, compassionate legal representation and community education. Our experienced team of attorneys provide trauma-informed, holistic representation to families affected by domestic violence in the following areas:

• Divorce or annulment
• Obtaining and enforcing protective orders
• Child and spousal support
• Child custody
• Securing safe visitation
• Division and preservation of marital property
• Immigration issues faced by domestic violence survivors
• Special findings for Special Immigrant
• Juveniles

De Novo is Seeking Attorneys to Volunteer with our Family Law Unit

Volunteer Attorneys will receive one-on-one mentoring from staff attorneys. Volunteers can participate according to their schedule and availability and areas of interest - anywhere from 1 hour/week to 30 hours/week, in person or remotely. We are seeking Volunteer Attorneys who have a commitment to social justice.
