Volunteers for M4M LA

The 2024 March for Marrow Los Angeles will celebrate 15 years of advocacy this year by staging its second IN-PERSON March for Marrow LA since 2019. The 15th Annual March for Marrow 5K Run and Patient & Family Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Shoreline Village, Long Beach, CA.

During the pandemic, March for Marrow California went VIRTUAL and STATEWIDE, running and walking throughout the state of California. We are going to continue that option, because California is a huge state, with many rural areas where doctors have never seen a bone marrow failure patient - and we need to educate them for that first case.

We have been back in-person in since 2022 with our 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk for individuals or teams; our 2024 CHAMPION, TBA, lots of comradery; and a Silent Auction with some wonderful gifts from Los Angeles and the state of California. To make it all come together we need about 25 volunteers to set up and get us through registration and the 5K Start; then another 25 vols to manage the awards, the Patient & Family Walk, and Silent Auction. Sign up here!

We start VERY early, 6:00 am, with the basic set up of Volunteer Check-In, 5K Run Registration and the Walk, T-Shirts, Goody Bags, the Start/Finish Gate and Water Stations.

Then at 7:30 am we switch to the Awards area, Silent Auction, Vendors and National Sponsors.

About every 2 1/2 hours there are different areas to be covered. Shifts ar 2 1/2 to 3 hours each.

Volunteers receive training, a t-shirt and a parking pass for parking during your shift.
