ORGANIZATION: Providence Care

Bereavement volunteers are very special patient and family volunteers who support individuals in our bereavement program in connection with our Hospice Chaplaincy and Interdisciplinary Team.

This program supports patients and families on hospice and works hand in hand with our care team under the supervision of our Chaplains and Bereavement Coordinator.

Bereavement volunteer duties may include:

  • Telephone conversations
  • Visits with family and loved ones
  • Writing cards and letters
  • Attending or facilitating support groups
  • Assistance with remembrance events
