Since 1994, more than 1 million Americans have given 1.3 billion hours of service through AmeriCorps. It is a unique opportunity that offers paid service for those entering or re-entering the workforce. OneOC, in partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service, is proud to offer AmeriCorps Volunteer Infrastructure Program (VIP) fellowships. As a OneOC AmeriCorps VIP member, you will have the opportunity to build the volunteer capacity of Orange County's most prominent nonprofits, including nonprofits focused on Education, the Environment, Veterans' Issues, Arts & Culture, and more. AmeriCorps programs provide members with valuable professional skills, leadership development, and a pathway to future opportunities in nonprofit and other related fields. You are looking to serve your community and country You want to take action and impact the lives of others in a positive way You want to offer solutions to tough local issues and be constructive As a graduate, you are evaluating options for next steps, and seeking a productive role to utilize your skills As a retiree, you may remain involved, supplement your retirement income, transfer your Education Award to a loved one, and help others succeed When Would I Serve? Complete a 6-month service term through January 2023-June 2023, or February 2023-July 2023. What You Get? In exchange for 6 months of service, AmeriCorps members earn a modest living allowance and an Education Award ($3,247.50) that helps pay for college or student loans. AmeriCorps members have earned more than $2 billion in these awards since 1994. Living Allowance ($2,000* per month) Segal Education Award (up to $3,247.50*) upon successful completion of term (up to 2 terms of service) Health Benefits (if applicable) Childcare Subsidy (if applicable) Federal Student Loan deferment and interest repayment (if applicable) Free Professional Development Trainings from OneOC Networking Opportunities Potential eligibility for CalFresh Benefits (CA's food stamp program) *Please note: the living stipend and education award are taxable.

What You Bring? The most successful in this position have had 1 year or more of college experience, strong leadership and communication skills, good technological skills, possess ingenuity and a can-do spirit, and are energized by serving others.

Organized, responsible, flexible, motivated and professional

Strong personal standards of excellence, ethics and integrity

Ability to be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the program's safety policies and rules

Must be able to adapt to change in work environment, accept feedback and growth opportunities, effectively handle multiple tasks and competing demands, work cooperatively in group situations work actively to resolve conflicts, and work well with others on a team

Work independently and as a member of a team with strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks

Possess leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

An interest in the Arts and/or a background in community service and volunteerism

Basic computer skills. Excel experience preferred

Outgoing with an ability to work with large groups

Additional Requirements: Serve 40-45 hours per week for up to 6 months of service (varies slightly by Partner Site) Must either be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States (Due to federal grant restrictions, we currently cannot accept DACA recipients) Must be at least 18 years of age Must clear all criminal background checks (DOJ, FBI, & NSOPW) Must have at least a high school diploma or a GED by start date English language proficiency

Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to various training and service locations Have served no more than 2 terms in AmeriCorps State or National programs Service hours are expected to occur in-person at partner sites. Teleservice is only permitted for members during unique, extreme situations and/or emergencies
