We are currently seeking multiple seasonal volunteers to assume one of the following roles to contribute to organizing and coordinating special events and fundraisers that promote SOOR athletes in our SOOR Milton-Freewater Local Program.
- Local Program Coordinator
- Volunteer Manager
- Sports Manager
- Communications Manager
- Medical Manager
- Fundraising Manager
- Finance Manager
These volunteer roles consist in helping with a variety of the following tasks:
- coordinate sports competitions and events
- register athletes
- maintain updated records
- communicate with families
- outreach to the community
- follow-up communication
- raise funds
- and more!
We most need help with our Winter Sports Season right now, but if you enjoy your role or want to help with other areas, there is opportunity for growth moving into our upcoming Summer and Fall Sports seasons as well.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community.
Description
Special Olympics Oregon provides year-round opportunities for children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities to participate in sports training and competition. All Special Olympics coaches, assistant coaches and management members are volunteers.
