Kid City Hope Place is an after school program for high school students in the heart of Downtown LA. It offers tutoring, college and job preparation, academic enrichment all within a healthy and supportive community of peers. Since its inception fifteen years ago, Kid City has been building a music program with an emphasis on group learning and musical performance. We offer private and group lessons for students in all levels on Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm.

Kid City has adopted a student-led curriculum that gives participants the freedom to choose the songs that they wish to learn. We use these songs as a foundation to teach our students how to perform with other musicians, which we believe is the best environment for their development. This results in a more relevant repertoire/curriculum that the students can get excited about. Kid City is often a place where students feel free to express themselves and be part of a loving community. The music program is an extension of that and prioritizes the wellbeing of the students over a strict curriculum and attendance. For more information please visit www.kidcityhopeplace.org
