ORGANIZATION: West Tuality Habitat for Humanity

The vision of West Tuality Habitat for Humanity is a community where everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and is a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our offices are above the Forest Grove ReStore, which is a critical fundraising tool for all of our programs in Western Washington County, Oregon.

This is a role for a volunteer with a car! It's very simple: you will drive to the libraries and grocery stores in Banks, Gaston, Cornelius, North Plains and Forest Grove and post flyers and brochures about one or two Habitat programs. You can pick the weekday or Saturday that you do this. We estimate this will take about two hours of your time. What's required: for you to walk into the establishment, say you would like to post the flyer on their community board or display the brochures in a particular area (where others are doing so), and then, with permission, you do so!

You can do this just once, or do it again 12 weeks later.

This can be a shared role, with a different volunteer coming in each time. You are welcomed to have a friend or family member be with you in your car as you deliver these items.

We cannot reimburse you for gas, but if you itemize your taxes, you can deduct the mileage on your tax returns.

Volunteers need to be fully licensed and insured drivers, driving a fully licensed and insured car of their own.

Volunteers are asked to sign a liability waiver and a photo release.

Serious applicants only! Please don't apply unless you have the time to do this assignment and have thought about the day you will be able to do it. We ask that anyone who takes on this role commits to doing the role for at least three months.
