AASCSC's Youth Action League (YAL) is a leadership and volunteerism program designed for youths ages 12-17 years old where they can gain volunteer experience, leadership development, and receive mentorship. Members will be asked to commit to a minimum of 12-months including monthly meetings (2nd Saturday of each month from 10am-12pm) and a requirement to volunteer at least 25 hours/year.

The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 entrusted to serve, protect, and celebrate the most vulnerable elders, youth, and families as they progress through different stages of life. AASCSC believes in an intergenerational approach to building a stronger and healthier community through direct services, advocacy, and capacity building. AASCSC is motivated by the vision and culture to build collaboratives to move hearts and minds. We understand what is already present in communities and is intentional about strengthening cultural resilience, which is a key component to amplifying the community’s presence and power to achieving equitable community development. Our center works to ignite a passion in navigating the challenges, to serve with a shared purpose, and to connect our collective needs and values that will create a sustainable positive impact.

Description

The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) is a non-profit organization, based in Orange County, CA (our center is in Santa Ana), that serves all age groups and all community members through an intergenerational approach with a focus on building a stronger and healthier community. AASCSC works closely with other nonprofits and government agencies to promote community health (including social determinants of health), provide direct health services, and to continuously advocate for our community. At the heart of these efforts is our underlying goal to strive for and ensure health equity within our community.
