Cypress Basin Hospice offers a Vet-to-Vet Volunteer program where trained hospice volunteers, who are also Veterans, are matched with patients who are Veterans. The Vet-to-Vet Volunteer connection is a special bond between two individuals who know firsthand the impact of serving our Country. Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to connect with patients, creating an environment where life review and healing may occur.
Veteran volunteers activities may include caregiver respite, companionship care, and participating in a Pinning Ceremony. If you are a Veteran or are actively serving you can become a Vet-to-Vet Volunteer. The camaraderie established with service to our Country has proven to be essential in our mission to provide a peaceful and comfortable death for our Veterans.

Cypress Basin Hospice has been providing family-centered, quality end-of-life care to the communities of Northeast Texas since 1986. We emphasize compassion, dignity, independence, and respect throughout every asset of our care and for decades we have been the area’s premier not-for-profit, community-owned agency.
Our friendly and professional staff is dedicated to caring for individuals touched by life-limiting illness, grief, and loss. We offer a wide range of services to every patient and our hope is that we are able to relieve the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain patients and families are suffering from. Cypress Basin has a proven track record and will go above and beyond to ensure that you and your loved ones are always cared for to the highest degree. You can rest assured knowing that patients and families are being served by one of the oldest and most respected hospice programs in Mt. Pleasant, Paris, Sulphur Springs, and all of Northeast Texas.

- Volunteers are asked to commit for a minimum of one year after completing training. Veteran Companion Volunteers will visit with their assigned patients 1-2x/month. Visits typically last one hour.
