Make A Connection-Become a Hospice Volunteer

Provide patient and family support to patients who are receiving hospice care. The purpose of circle of care calls is to check in with patients/families who live in private homes to makes sure they have the supplies/medications they need before the weekend. Calls are made Thursday mornings and can be done remotely. A typical call list is about 20 calls. The average time commitment is 1-2 hours. Applicant must have internet access and fluent with using a using a computer.

Description

When life expectancy is limited, AccentCare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers will help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patient's own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
