Contributing Role Description

We are a national community of survivors & advocates with a BOLD vision to nurture healthier individuals, families, and communities by doing advocacy differently.

To radically reduce the number of people being impacted by domestic violence and raise the national standard of advocacy through researching, developing, collaborating and implementing world-class projects and programs.

We are looking to hire writers to create content for our newsroom articles to help us in our mission to raise the national standard of advocacy. Your responsibilities include writing and pitching articles to the newsroom crew. You should also be able to follow editorial guidelines when creating content. This is an opportunity for you to be a part of something bigger than all of us.

• Conducting in-depth research on industry-related topics in order to develop original content
• Conducting interviews and writing articles featuring survivors, advocates and industry leaders
• Writing articles on key categories for raising the national standard of advocacy
• Proofreading your articles for errors and inconsistencies. Not full grammar edits.
• Providing keywords and tags for SEO to increase traffic to the company website. We can guide you on this.
• Creating compelling headlines and body copy that will capture the attention of the target audience
• Including links to relevant resources, education, or media that are relevant to your article
• Including images that are relevant to your article
• Pitching new content to address gaps in the current content

• Interest or experience in writing, journalism, or related field
• Excellent writing and basic editing skills
• The ability to produce a minimum of one article per month
• Willingness to take direction from our Founder who is also the Editor-In-Chief

Time Commitment

• 2-4 hours per week
• 1 year service minimum
